Battery
Battery Removal
1. Remove rail covers, passenger seat, and operator seat (page 121).
2. Remove two nuts (A) and battery retaining bracket (B).
3. Disconnect the negative ( - ) battery cables (black cables with ends
exposed) first (C).
4. Disconnect the positive ( + ) cables (cable ends are covered with a
red boot) (D).
Disconnecting the positive cable first can produce an electric shock that could result in damage or injury.
Caution
5. Lift the top of the battery until the bottom front edge is clear of the
battery tray and slide the battery straight out. It may be necessary
to reposition the positive battery cable to allow the top of the
battery to move upward.
