To connect an MD recorder or a DAT
deck for analog recording
You can record from the sound sources of
the stereo into the MD recorder or DAT
deck in analog sound.
You can also listen to the sound from the
MD recorder or DAT deck.

To connect surround speakers (for
MHC-C9EX only)
You can cormect the following optional
speakers to the stereo.
When connecting speakers purchased
separately, disconnect the connecting cords
for the speakers provided. For details, refer
to the instructions provided with the
speakers.
• Make sure to connect the rear speaker to
two of the REAR SPEAKER jacks. You
cannot listen to the sound when
connected to one jack only.
• If you cormect the center speaker with one
cable, be sure to connect it to the +
terminal of L connector and - terminal of
R connector.

To connect a microphone or
headphones
You can connect a microphone (minijack) to
the MIX MIC jack on the front panel.
You can connect the headphones (phone
jack) to the HEADPHONES jack on the
front panel.
Connecting a VCR
You can connect a VCR.
You can hear the sound through the
connected speakers and also record the
VCR sound.

Use audio connecting cable and make
sure to connect the plugs to jacks of the
same color. Then press FUNCTION until
the VIDEO/AUX indication lights.
' You can use Automatic Source Selection,
Synchronized Recording and Timer
Recording with the connected equipment.
However, these features may not be
provided on some models.
