To cancel the audio emphasis
For MHC-C7EX
Press EFFECT so that "EFFECT OFF"
appears in the display. The audio emphasis
indications disappear and the equalizer
curve becomes flat.
Press EFFECT again to activate the audio
emphasis.
For MHC-C9EX
Press DIRECT so that "DIRECT" appears
in the display. The audio emphasis
indications disappear and the equalizer
curve becomes flat.
Press DIRECT again to activate the audio
emphasis.
This feature can be used when you want to
listen to the music in its pure, unprocessed
state.
To change the display
Press DISPLAY.
Each time you press the button, the display
changes to show one of the four displays
below.

Adjusting the Audio
Emphasis
You can adjust the audio emphasis using
the following two functions:
• Graphic equalizer
• Surround effect
Adjusting the Sound
(graphic equalizer)
You can adjust the sound by raising or
lowering the levels of specific frequency
ranges.
Before operation, first select the audio
emphasis that you want for your basic
sound.

Press MODE ON repeatedly until the
equalizer curve and "BAND<------►

|I " appear in the display.

Adjust the sound by pressing CURSOR
(CURSOR CONTROL on the remote).
< or > : Shifts the frequency range
to be adjusted to the left or
to the right.
A or V : Raises or lowers the level
of the frequency range
centering around the
flashing dot.
