<Still Mode>
1 Automatic:
The unit automatically se­
lects field still or frame still.
2 Field: The unit shows field stills.
Select this setting when jittering occurs
when “1 Automatic” is selected.
3 Frame: The unit shows frame stilts.
Select if small text or fine patterns can­
not be seen clearly when “1 Automatic”
is selected.
<Audio during Search>
1 On
2 Off:
Select if you do not want audio during
search.
•Audio is heard at any scanning speed
(forward/backward) when playing DVD-
Audio and CDs, regardless of the setting.
•Audio is not heard at any scanning speed
(forward/backward) when playing DTS
CDs, regardless of the setting.
<TV Mode (4:3)>
1 Pan & Scan:
The picture is shown with either one or
both sides cut off.
2 Letterbox:
Black bands appear at the top and bot­

Select when viewing discs at low vol­
ume, such as late at night.
<Still Picture Display>
The picture type will be displayed as “I”, “P"

<DVD-Video Mode>
1. Off:
DVD-Audio discs are played as DVD-
Audio discs.
2. On:
DVD-Audio discs are played in a similar
fashion to DVD-Video.
The setting reverts to “Off” if you open the
disc lid or turn the unit off.
The “Pan & Scan” or “Letterbox” specifica­
tions on discs have priority.
