Ink Cartridge Problems
If output quality does not improve even after cleaning and
aligning the print heads, you may need to replace one or
multiple ink cartridges.
To replace an ink cartridge before the corresponding Ink Out
light is on or flashing, follow these steps.

Caution:
Once you remove an ink cartridge, it becomes unusable and
cannot be reinstalled even if ink remains.
1. Make sure the printer is on. Determine which ink cartridge
needs to be replaced from the missing ink color on your
printout or the printer self test. See page 8-5 for details on
printing a self test.
2. Complete the ink cartridge replacement procedure as
described from step 2 of “Replacing an Ink Cartridge” on
page 7-2.
