• Always unplug an appliance from an outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off
parts, and before cleaning. Never yank cord to pull plug from outlet. Grasp the plug and
pull to disconnect.
• If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with a proper rating should be used. A cord rated
for less amperes or watts than the appliance rating may overheat.

Pond Aerator System Applications
Pond Aerator pumps fulfill a wide variety of applications more safely than some other
means. The are used:
1. To improve filtration.
2. For general aeration and circulation of the pond water.
3. To prevent stagnation of specific areas of the pond.
4. To prevent fish deaths from low dissolved oxygen (DO) content. Low dissolved oxygen
content can result from several things:
a. High water temperatures can result in low dissolved oxygen. Warm water holds less
oxygen therefore, in the warmer months be sure to add plenty of oxygen.
b. After treating with algaecides. When using algaecides there is a lot of decomposition
taking place as a result of the algae dying. This decomposition in turn uses a lot of
oxygen, so make sure to provide plenty of aeration.
c. When treating with medications. Most medications that are used when treating sick
fish bind up the oxygen in the water making it hard for the fish to breathe. Therefore,
whenever you are treating sick fish provide plenty of aeration.
