TROUBLESHOOTING

Proper cleaning, maintenance and the use of quality fuel will prevent common operational

problems. When your Pit Boss® grill is operating poorly, or on a less frequent basis, the

following troubleshooting tips may be helpful.

WARNING: Always disconnect the gas cylinder prior to opening

the grill for any inspection, cleaning, maintenance or service work.

Ensure the grill is completely cooled to avoid injury.

PROBLEM

CAUSE

SOLUTION

Burner Will

Not Light

No Gas Flow

Check gas fuel connection, and ensure it is open. Increase flow

on regular, or replace gas cylinder if empty.

Obstruction In

Valve

Check connection port from the firebox to the regulator,

and ensure there is no obstruction.

Faulty

Regulator

Regulator assembly needs to be replaced. Contact Customer

Service for a replacement part.

Regulator Valve

Is Off

Check the regulator valve connection to the gas cylinder.

Remove, then reinstall. Perform leak test.

Obstructed

Burner Tube,

Burner Ports

Check burner tube and burner ports for spider webs

or other obstructions. Follow

Care and Maintenance

instructions to clean the burner tube.

Ignitor Failure

Press the igniter button until a loud click is heard. Repeat

until burner lights, or check for proper positioning of

ignitor, and notice if the electrode is producing a spark; the

spark should be visible and jump from the ignitor to the

burner. If there is no spark, adjust the electrode to slightly

bending a little closer or further away from the burner. If

wet, allow electrode to air dry, or dry with a clean cloth or

blow dryer. If igniter still fails, igniter needs to be replaced.

Contact Customer Service for a replacement part. Use match

for manual lighting of the burner.

Faulty Burner

Burner needs to be replaced. Contact Customer Service for a

replacement part.

Burner Will

Not Stay Lit

No Gas Flow

Check gas fuel connection, and ensure it is open. Replace

gas cylinder if empty.

Gusting Or High

Winds

Turn front of grill away from wind or increase flame height.
