Make sure electrical plug is plugged into a live power outlet.
Burner parts not replaced correctly.
Slits in the burner heads may be clogged.
' Burner ports not replaced correctly. See the sealed burner assemblies
section.
' The combustion quality of burner flames needs to be determined
visually.
C. Soft blue flames: Normal
for natural gas.
A. Yellow flames: Call for
service.
B. Yellow tips on outer
cones: Normal for LP gas.
' If burner flames look like (A), call for service. Normal burner flames
should look like (B) or (C), depending on the type of gas. With LP
gas, some yellow tipping on outer cones is normal.
' Cooktop may be connected to wrong fuel type. Contact the person who
installed your cooktop or made the conversion.
' When the knob is at the OFF position, it must be pushed down before
it can be turned, and it can only be turned in a counterclockwise
direction. When the knob is at any other position, it can be turned
in either direction without being pushed in.
