Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a Yorkville powered mixer. We at Yorkville Sound are confi-
dent that you will find the
MM5D to be an excellent and versatile mixer/amplifier. We
have used our experience in the development of powered mixers to create the small-
est, lightest, and most powerful combination mixer/amplifiers available. This manual
contains information for you to safely operate and get the maximum performance from
your
MM5D. We strongly suggest that you will take the time to read it.
Stereo Power Amplifier
The
MM5D features high-efficiency stereo power amplifiers designed to deliver maximum
power into a 4-ohm load. When speaker impedances lower than 4 ohms are connected, the
amplifier will go into
PROTECT for six seconds, then test the speaker load with the audio
signal. If the speaker load is 4 ohms or higher the amplifier will return to normal operation.
If the speaker load is still less than 4 ohms the will go into
PROTECT again for six seconds,
then test the speaker load with the audio signal.
