Your enCORE 100i should be plugged into a mic-level input
using a standard 3-pin XLR cable. enCORE 100i doesn’t
require phantom power, but won’t be harmed should
phantom power be enabled while in use.

Microphone placement makes a big difference in how your
enCORE 100i sounds. Generally, the closer you place enCORE
100i to a sound source, the higher the low-frequency output.
This is due to the “proximity effect.” So, if you want your
instruments to have added punch, place the microphone right
up against the source. For a more natural sound, simply pull
the source back from the microphone 2-4 inches.
