Before First Use
Please read Important Safeguards and Consumer Safety Information.
VERY IMPORTANT
The steam vents on the soleplate must
be cleaned before first use. Follow
instructions in the “Self Clean II
System” section. This will assure steam
vents have been thoroughly cleaned.
Remove any peel off labels from the
iron and wipe any manufacturing
residue from the soleplate and vents.
During the first use of the iron, it may
appear to smoke. This will stop and
does not indicate a defect or hazard.
CAUTION: Some irons spit or sputter
water during the first few uses. This
happens as the steam chamber
becomes conditioned. This will stop
after a few uses.
Using Your Iron
Read and follow instructions above in “Before First Use.”
To Dry Iron
1. Plug iron into electrical outlet. The
Auto Shutoff Reset Button/Light will
come on. If the plug will not fit, read
about the polarized plug in
“Consumer Safety Information.”
2. Turn the Temperature/Steam Dial to
a setting in the Dry
Iron range. As an
example, the illus­
tration shows the
iron set at 2
(Nylon).
3. Preheat for about 4 minutes
before beginning to iron.
The iron will automatically shut off
1 hour after the iron is plugged in
and the Auto Shutoff Reset Button/
Light will go out. To turn the iron
back on, press the Auto Shutoff
Reset Button/Light located on the
top of the handle.
When finished ironing, turn the
Temperature/
Steam Dial to OFF
(0) and unplug
iron.
