Setting up the Xmidi

Connect the Xmidi

to your computer using
the attached USB connector. If you use a hub, it
must be powered.
When properly connected, the Xmidi

x
1
Power LED illuminates when your computer is
on and awake. Windows users MUST install the
Xmidi
1
x
1
drivers from the included CD.
Windows XP Drivers
To install your E-MU Xmidi
1
x
1
interface on
Windows XP:
Connect the Xmidi
1
x
1
to your computer
using the USB connector.
Insert the CD labelled “Software/Manual
Installation.”
When the “Welcome to E-MU Software
Setup” dialog box appears, follow the on-
screen instructions.
If you encounter the “Windows Logo-
Testing” warning screen, click Continue
Anyway.
When prompted, restart your computer.
Your Xmidi

is now ready to use.
Mac OS X Drivers
You don’t need to install any drivers for Mac
OS X. Simply connect the Xmidi
1
x
1
to your
computer using the USB connector.
The Xmidi
1
x
1
will appear as a MIDI Device
with one In and one Out port in your Audio
MIDI Setup utility. Create and connect the ap-
propriate devices in the Audio MIDI Setup Utility.
