RTD platinum sensor input
Resolution 1 °C or 0.1 °C
Display 4 digits
2 independent alarm switches
Average value feature
Analog adjustable output 4-20 mA (0-20 mA) or 0-10 VDC
AT42 is a digital thermometer dedicated to RTD input sensor and provides 2 independent alarms switches.
An analog output is available, defined when ordering : current output (4-20 mA or 0-20 mA) or voltage output
(0-10 VDC). Keys located behind the front panel filter allow quick and easy adjustment of the display scale
and the alarm switches values, both in engineering units. You can also use the average value feature to
smoothen the transient process value display.
An easy menu allows the access to the values and functions even when these are no often modified :
analog output adjustment, status of the alarms relays (NO/NC), calculation features (square root,minimum-
maximum). AT42 is a panel digital indicator which electrical connections are done through a screw plug-in
terminal. LED display is a 10000 points, 14 mm-high unit with an accuracy of 0.1 °C or 1 °C according to the
desired range and resolution.
Input and signal conditioning

Analog output
To be defined when ordering as current output (4-20 mA or 0-20 mA) or as voltage output (0-10 VDC) the
analog output values low-scale and high-scale values are adjustable on the full range from -2000 ... +10000
counts. Non isolated output.
Current output :
• Select 4-20 mA or 0-20 mA by program
• Maximum voltage load on a 750 Ω shunt (15 V)
• Maximum current limited to 50 mA
Voltage output :
• 0 ... 10 VDC
• Accuracy 0.1 %
• Response time : 150 ms
• Maximum current limited to 10 mA
• Output load < 75 Ω
Alarm switches
2 independent alarm switches, programmed from the front panel after removing the front filter. Fully adjusta-
ble switches on the display range (-1999 ... +9999 counts) - Accuracy 1 count.
Relays : 1A, 230 VAC, 1A, cos j 0.7
Status LED's on the front panel
Possibility to reverse the relay action
Connections
The equipment bears the CE mark, in accordance with directive 89/336/CEE - electromagnetic compatibility.
This system meets the following standards : EN 50081-2 and EN 50082-2.
Configuration of the indicator and adjustment of the analog output
To configure the indicator, remove the front filter and use + and - keys and programming switches.

When the front filter is removed, the system is no longer protected from electrostatic discharges on the front
panel (801-2). Proper precautions must be taken when programming, as the unit is not in it's normal opera-
ting configuration.
1- Selecting the resolution 0.1 °C or 1 °C
Toggle programming switch nb
3 in on position.
Push the
+ key to select the resolution.
When the disired value is reached, toggle programming switch nb
3 in off position.
2 - Activating the average value feature
To activate the average value, toggle programming switch nb
4 in on position.
To come back to the direct display, toggle programming switch nb
4 in off position.
3 - Programming the alarms switches
Toggle programming switch nb
7 in on position (alarm 1).
Display will give the value of the alarm switch
1.
Use
+ key to increase or - to decrease until you reach the desired value.
Then toggle programming switch nb
7 in off position.
Do the same toggle programming switch nb
8 for alarm 2.
4 - Access to the internal menu
Display type : measure, minimum, maximum
Through switches nb
5 and 6, menu allows to configure the analog output, alarm relays status, measurement
resolution, complementary choices for calculation functions (minimum, maximum).
5 - When programming, the rightest decimal point is blinking
Adjustment
1 - Connect a 285 Ω ± 0.005 Ω resistor to the input
2 - Toggle programming switches nb
1 and 3 in on position use + and - keys to display 432.0 toggle switches
nb
1 and 3 in off position.
3 - Connect a 100 Ω ± 0.005 Ω resistor to the input.
4 - Toggle programming switches nb
2 and 3 in on position use + and - keys to display 0. Toggle switches nb
1 and 3 in off position.
To reset the indicator to the genuine calibration values, switch it on while pushing the
+ key. Display will be "Init".
