Select a front panel language
N O T E
If the front panel already displays the language you want, turn to the next topic,
“Print the Menu Map” on page 22.
By default, the front panel displays in English. If the Kanji font SIMM is
installed, front panel messages display in Japanese. To change the default to
Spanish, French, German, Italian, English, or Japanese, follow these steps. (If
Chinese or Korean font SIMMS are installed, the front panel will display in
English but the output will be in the specified language.)
1. Press the Menu button when the printer is on and the Ready message
appears. You see this message:

2. Press <--- to scroll to this message:
Language
<--- ---> Menu
3. Press Menu ; you see this message:
Language:English*
<--- ---> OK
The asterisk ( * ) indicates the currently selected language.
4. Scroll to the language you want from these selections:
Language:English
Language:Español
Language:Français
Language:Deutch
Language:Italiano
Language:(Japanese)
5. Press OK .
Press until Ready is displayed in the selected language.
